November - December 2002 Activities

Praise the Lord!

November 24. Pastor Leckie led Bethany in a prayer of dedication for 439 shoe boxes filled with gifts for under-privileged children around the world. The gift boxes will be delivered by Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan's Purse Relief Organization. Please pray for the children whose lives will be touched by these boxes.

November 27. Using the Old Testament Feast of Booths as a theme, Bethany gathered to give thanks and to praise God for all that He is

Christmas Eve
Candlelight Communion Service

December 24 . The choir led an overflowing crowd in celebration of the birth of Christ on Christmas Eve. The service culminated in sharing of Communion and a demonstration of our responsibility to be the light of the world. A single candle in the darkness spread to hundreds of others througout the auditorium filling it with light.

Christmas Boutique

November 9. Bethany's annual Christmas Boutique was held on Saturday morning. Tables full of interesting and colorful crafts were available for purchase several items we placed on silent auction.

Women's Retreat Skit

The women held their annual retreat at Oak Glen Christian Conference Center November 15-17 with the theme: "Falling in Love with Jesus". Here Allison Davis, Darlene Clark and Dorinda Browning encourage Bethany's women to attend in a skit they performed in the morning services on October 13.

December 8. Christopher and Darlene Clark were commissioned by Bethany to their ministry as missionaries with Wycliffe Bible Translators in the evening service. Christopher has been accepted by Wycliffe JAARS as a pilot/ mechanic. In January they will leave for North Carolina for orientation and training. "Meet Me At the Manger"

"What good is Christmas without Christ?" ...
a good question posed by our children as they presented their Christmas musical last Sunday evening.
